A ruin of a Gothic castle from the 14th century, enlarged in the 16th century by Václav Popel of Lobkowicz. During the Thirty Years War desolated, since the 17th century deserted. In the 19th century rebuilt into a summer residence. The castle complex with fortifications, a tower, a castle palace with a chapel, a knight’s hall and a museum exposition. In the 19th century the castle inspired Richard Wagner to composing the opera Tannhäuser.
