Ethnographic Museum of the Polabí area
The museum is one of the oldest regional museums in Europe (established in 1900). It represents village architecture of the 18th century, displaying period equipment.
The “Old Bohemian Cottage” used to be a blacksmith’s shop and, later, the reeve’s homestead with painted furniture and various objects from the household and cabinets with various collections accessible to the public. One old water-well and a small wooden bell-tower were installed in the vicinity of the cottage and thus, the first regional ethnic museum in Central Europe originated. Moreover, a forester’s house, its background and garden with a hop granary can be seen in the area.
