Sightseeing around Konpiště castle and its surrounding
Route /Circle)): parking place – route for walkers around the lake – walking through the park– Konopiště castle - parking place
Route length: approximately 7 km, 4 hours (depending how much do your want to relax on the way) + castle sightseeing
Suitable for prams and families with small children
We started our trip on the parking place under the castle and set on the asphalt road to the right, after several hundred of meters we came to a pond and decided to go round it. The road was at first an asphalt one on the right, later it changes in a wide earthen road, where our double-pram could easily go through. On the way, we found three very nice resting places with banks. All in shadow. The circle around the pond lasts approximately 3 kilometers.
The castle itself is surrounded by a vast park with nice deciduous trees – some of the trees grow solitary on meadows, some are part of forest. There is an educational route leading through the whole park, where you can read various information on local plants, animals and sights. Many places attract for rest and if the weather is nice, it is worth taking a blanket with you. We walked slowly through the whole park in about an hour.
The Konopiště has many interiors, that differently from other, rather blunt castles, enchant even small children. The visitors can chose from several sightseeing tours. Nearby the castle, there is a castle restaurant and straight under the castle, there is another one called „U Myslivce“ (“at the Hunter's”) – including outdoor seating (parking place for several prams). There is a nice service and very good food.
This was the end of our trip with twins for today. However, we are already planning other very nice trips, which would be passable – of course – for all.
