Prague collectors
Would you like to take a look into the technical Prague underground? Come take a walk tens of meters below the surface of the historical center of Prague.
Collectors are underground passageways (service tunnels) in which engineering networks are laid. The majority of the networks essential for the day-to-day processes of the city – waterlines, canalization, hot-water lines, gas lines, energy, telephone and optical cables – are found in collectors. We will acquaint you with the technology of construction of collectors and the way in which the engineering networks are laid. We'll show you a central control room, where you see one of the largest and most modern ways of monitoring in the world. We can show you samples of conduits with engineering networks leading from the collector directly into the basements of houses. You will take a look up to 40 meters below the surface. You can walk under the historical monuments such as the Powder Tower (Prašná brána), Municipal House (Obecní dům), Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí), Týn Church (Týnský chrám) and many others. You will see Prague's technical underground, which is admired by experts from around the world.
