Large complex of Clementinum is situated next to the Charles Bridge,
right in the historical centre of Prague. Clementinum, built on area of 2
hectares, is one of the largest building complexes in Europe.
Originally a Jesuit monastery, it now houses the National Library.
The most
attractive parts of the sightseeing tour in Clementinum are Astronomical Tower which is 68 meters high and presents a wonderful view of the historical center of Prague, the Mirror Chapel with an in-wrought interior with unique built in mirrors that can not be seen anywhere else and the Baroque Library hall with splendid fresco paintings on the ceiling and a few historically rare big globes.
Sightseeing tours start(2014): daily at 10 a.m. The commentary
is available in Czech and English - commentaries in other languages
have to be arranged in advance.
