Exploring neighborhood of Okoř (with buggy)
Distance: approx. 10 km according to mood and strengths of the trip participants
Start and end of the route: park place by the Okoř Castle
The spring is finally here and so we decided to make a trip in nature. We took the twins, buggy, plastic pre-bikes and headed in direction to Okoř. We parked the car on the central guarded park place and walked towards the castle ruins; it wasn’t open yet in March, but the sweet shop in front of it already offers outdoor sitting area and their cakes are really tasty.
We planned the trip from Okoř along the red tourist route in direction to Zákolany. At firsts, the route leads around maintained cottages and then through charming nature. It also serves as a cycling route and thus, it is a buggy and pre-bikes friendly. Another advantage is that almost entire route is flat and thus, also the less capable mummies will manage without problems. The only worse part is overcoming the Zákolanský Creek. The bridging is not wide enough for buggies; it consists of two next to each other placed iron cross-pieces. But we didn’t have problem with our double-buggy; it can be comfortably carried over. Also mummies without a company will manage thanks to often passing cyclists. One willing cyclist will surely stop and help them to carry the baggy over. After overcoming the bridging, the route crinkles along the creek and leads under nice stone bridge where trains often pass; the trains and echo under the bridge will be mainly appreciated by small hikers. When you are tired from walking, turn the buggy – or a child – around and return along the same route. The cyclists can continue and make a circuit that also leads on the road, which is not suitable for buggies and beginning small cyclists.
